You wait months for a new post then two come along at once!

I have a new enthusiasm for a Precisionist artist by the name of Scheeler - his pieces featuring trains, turbines and other machinery really fit in with the theme of my recent work.
I've been working on decay both urban and organic and I'm really fascinated by rusting train running gear.
Well, Mr Scheeler's train (in the painting Rolling Power) is all shiny and state of the art, for the time, whilst my work is the con-rod, wheel and general running gear of a very rusty old loco that sits in a park around here somewhere.
Maybe my piece should be called rusting power?

What? I haz blog?

Er, yes, so I do... sorry folks for the prolonged hiatus - my course has been kicking my bum workwise and I've simply not had time to blog anything.
Eeep.
No one reads this anyway. So I doubt I've been missed much.
*Cue much artistic emo-ism and feeling sorry for myself.
:)
Have a piccie!

Isn't it odd how inspiration can be triggered by the most mundane things?
I've got some strange new ideas running around my head, inspired by hair-dye of all things.
I can feel a painting coming on.
If this works out the way I want, it will be fabulous - watch this space...

Stuff....

Hello there!
Welcome to Oooooh Shiny things, my blog about all things art.
You'll have to bear with me for a bit, this is my first blog and I'm still learning.

Anyway, say hello to Edgar - my first art doll. He's a friendly little chap based on E.A.Poe's The Raven.
His corvid friend needs watching tho' - she's a bit scary.
